The Ukraine situation

I wish there was more I could do to help the people of Ukraine, as Russia tears through their sovereign nation waging a Nazi-like campaign to reestablish a modern-day adaptation of the soviet union. If you’ve looked online it’s apparent that the Russian citizenry does NOT support this operation either meaning that dictator Putin…

Struggle building faith

Many people who face hardships and struggles in life begin to question or even lose faith in their deities, but for me, this is not the case. When I first found myself a home in Judaism, I had a debilitating spinal issue, fairly bad hearing loss, and was/am legally blind, with 15% vision in…

Bad news…

Yesterday I’d gone to an optometrist to get checked up and get new glasses, I opted for a special laser scan of my eyes and a thorough check-up was underway. Afterward, I was sitting in the optometrist’s office and she’d first went on to tell me that my left eye (which I’m blind in)…

A powerful day…

On the 17th I had the pleasure of attending a speech and Q&A with Mr. Nate Leipcig, a 94-year-young holocaust survivor at Drexel University. He’d spoken for 45 minutes then answered a lot of questions… I sat, listened, and tears filled my eyes over and over again at the horrors he’d endured at the…

Holocaust remembrance day

Today, we remember the lives of six million Jews, men, women, and children, who were killed at the hands of the Nazis during WWII. Auschwitz-Birkenau camp was liberated on this day 77 years ago, where an estimated 1.1 million Jews were senselessly murdered by the fascist regime. Though the lives of one-third of the…

Shabbat Shalom, So, this past Tuesday we had our first intro to Judaism class and it was amazing, fun, informational, and we met a lot of really cool and interesting people also taking the class. We’re learning to read Hebrew, learning history, beliefs, and practices (much of which we know but the extra insight…
